Hennessey Venom F5: Another Shot at Being The Fastest

After missing out on being crowned as the fastest production car in 2014 on a technicality the Hennessey team hope to get it right this time with their planned unveiling of the Hennessey Venom F5 in 2016.

The Venom F5 is named after the highest Fujita’s scale tornado alert for winds. The winds go at a record 261 to 318mph. This probably are the speeds where the automaker is hoping their car ends up in.

Before the advent of this car’s predecessor The Bugatti was the unassailable and undisputed speed king since 2005. Then, the little known performance team tune up company from Texas entered the scene and even went as far as breaking the Bugatti’s 268mph record by reaching a top speed of 270.49mph. However, this wasn’t enough to pry the crown away from the Bugatti, as they hadn’t met the Guinness Book of Records stipulation of a minimum of 30 cars.
